چکیده

Background Contrast-enhanced (CE) whole-heart coronary MRA is a promising technique for CAD detection [1]. However, the current imaging time is relatively long and variable, and the spatial resolution is limited. The aim of this work is to develop and evaluate a 3D projection reconstruction (3DPR) based CE coronary MRA technique that achieves (1.0 mm) spatial resolution and 5-minute scan time, which has been previously validated on non-contrast coronary MRA [2]. Similar to the previous work, we compare the apparent SNR of two undersampling levels with 10,000 and 20,000 radial projections to explore the impact of undersampling on image quality in the context of CE imaging.

Contrast-Enhanced Whole-Heart Coronary MRA at 1.5T in less than 5 minutes using Gradient Echo Interleaved EPI and double dose of Gd-DTPA

INTRODUCTION: Whole-heart coronary MRA [1] is a promising technique, however, it is challenging due to the relatively long data acquisition time on the order of 10-15 minutes. Gradient echo interleaved EPI (GRE-EPI) [2] can provide significant speed gain and has previously been reported for volume-targeted imaging at 1.5T [3, 4]. The purpose of this work was to optimize a GRE-EPI sequence for r...

Free-breathing 3D whole-heart coronary mra using respiratory motion-resolved sparse reconstruction

Background Navigator gating is commonly used to minimize respiratory motion in free-breathing whole-heart coronary MRA [1]. However, lengthy and unpredictable acquisition times remain a drawback. Respiratory self-navigation (SN) [2-3], conversely, enables 100% scan efficiency, but performs motion correction over a broad range of respiratory displacements, which can result in image artifacts. He...

Whole-Heart Coronary MRA

Background MRI was first reported to visualize the ostia of the coronary arteries in the late 1980’s (1, 2). Tremendous progress has been made in coronary MRA ever since. One of the milestones was the acquisition of k-space data in a segmented mode (3, 4), allowing collection of an entire data set within multiple heartbeats. Early coronary MRA studies used two-dimensional (2D) technique to acqu...

Contrast-Enhanced Whole-Heart Coronary MRA at 3T using Gradient Echo Interleaved EPI and single dose of Gd-BOPTA

INTRODUCTION: Whole-heart coronary MRA is challenging due to the relatively long data acquisition time on the order of 10-15 minutes. Drifts in diaphragm position, patient motion and heart rate variations over this long imaging time may compromise the robustness of whole-heart coronary MRA and result in image artifacts. Gradient echo interleaved EPI (GRE-EPI) [1] is a method which can provide s...

Contarst-enhanced whole-heart coronary MRA in 5 minutes using radial EPI

INTRODUCTION: Whole-heart coronary MRA is challenging due to the long data acquisition time on the order of 8-12 minutes. Interleaved EPI using Cartesian kspace sampling has been reported for reducing the scan time of whole-heart coronary MRA [1]; however, this method suffers from an increased sensitivity to motion artifacts [2]. The purpose of this work was to optimize a radial EPI [3] techniq...
